Seeing the opportunity to take the money and start a new life, Marion leaves town and heads towards Sam's California store. Tired after the long drive and caught in a storm, she gets off the main highway and pulls into The Bates Motel. • awful music.

  • the king of suspense on my book! psycho is a grand genus of horror/ suspense movies ever! love the movie!

  • how weird of a commercial is that

  • at 6:08 it scared the living crap out of me

  • Wow Mr. Hitchcock was a marvelous director, look how smooth he tells you about details on the Bates Hotel, Mother, & the murder scene without telling too much information. Now thats brilliant! giving you enough time to get hyped for Psycho! This is my most favorite Horror Film ever made, i hope someday to be like Alfred Hitchcock.

  • :58 'I'll' say.

  • that was quite a clever trailer in the end. There were some naff bits even for the 60's but still overall pretty cool

  • they were motherf**king 6 minutes long?!?! O_O they're 2 min at the most now

This wasn't a typical trailer of the day. Besides, Hitchcock's tv show was already a huge hit and therefore people watching this "trailer" knew what to expect when he described something but only gave vague hints.

Today fooling people to see a bad movie by making a loud trailer with lots of exposions and sex is an art in itself. Then again, only fools decide to see a movie by its trailer alone.
