As a newlywed, Darlene Deobler Rose served as a missionary in New Guinea with her husband from 1938 to 1942. Then, for three years, she was imprisoned by the Japanese during World War II on the island of Celebes (now Sulawesi) and endured almost unspeakable hardships, including solitary confinement, near starvation, beatings and loss of her husband, the Rev. C. Russell Deibler.

Brothers and sisters, my son's ministry at http://www.warneveryonestudios.com

  • I love the story of her life. How much the Father loves those who surrender to His will!

  • who would dislike this? I love this story! Very convicting!

  • I am using her testimony to share with my Sunday School class to tie in all of Hebrews. I am so happy to know that I will one day slip into eternity and talk to her. She is probably the most Godly woman I ever heard.

  • I'm blown away by her testimony. It is truly a testimony of God's providence and grace in her life. It challenges me to face the small trials that I have with more thankfulness.

  • I heard a clip of this on Way of The Master radio and have been looking for it for two years. Thank you so much for posting it!

  • tremedous story. But i find it hard to sit here and hear god this and god that. If you ask me if there is a god, a world war is one very good peice of evidence to suggest he/she does not intervene with our lives at all.

  • I can honestly say that Darlene Rose lead me to the Lord, though I never met her. I heard her testimony in 1997 that has forever impacted my life! My life has been blessed and I desire a double portion of her, actually, of my LORD's Spirit, to touch lives for His glory, though I am far from the ability to do so, except for God's grace that knows how this shall all be fulfilled.

  • I love Darlene Rose and her commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ. What a life she has lived and witness she continues to share.
