@Stand4TheRepublic I can understand this situation very well but Stand4theWord of God... find a church that preaches the Truth and the Whole Gospel of God. If there is a NALC or the LCMS then that would be the way to go. If you must find a church outside of the Lutheran church that is what you should do. Be blessed and follow the Truth of God's Word.

the power of Christ is diminished in churches that allow this sin to continue. Can this be the Rock that Jesus said he will build His Church? I don't think so. And, for that one who is gay and in this church of which we speak Jesus loves you but you must repent of the life you follow... For you only are drawn to the churches heretic direction to justify the life you live. That is not a heaven bound eternal life road your on.

Jump, So the culture that now believes that Homosexual behavior is not abnormal as the APA tells us and the ELCA can embrace that? They don't believe it is a sin and therefore the Apostle Paul is just set aside to the ash heap of homophobia. "God's holy word, and the basis of a continual movement of thoughts, ideas and people." That's what you think? Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, and not according to Christ. You shut the door here, No?

ELCA is pro-choice, in fact abortionist doctor George Tiller was a member of an ELCA congregation. Why don't many of the people leaving come to the LCMS?

I hope some people here check out an LCMS church, I think you guys might find yourselves at home - at the kind of church your grandparents would have gone to. think about it folks :D

@womanwonder10 I'm not so sure that exclusion, drawing lines and putting up walls is quite what God takes joy in with his creation. We're called to be bigger than this. But if the LCMS wants to live in a protected castle, impervious to challenging ideas and controversial subjects, I guess they're free to do so. God is good. God is love. God is forgiveness and grace.

As of the end of 2011, at least 611 congregations changed their denominational affiliation from ELCA to some other Lutheran denomination. Another 46 are still in the process of changing affiliations. There were 258 new Lutheran congregations started by people who were in ELCA churches that couldn't get a 2/3rds majority to vote to change affiliations, and so they started new congregatons.

My life is so blessed, so much that I have that peace that passes all human understanding---and I want that for all who are crying out for real help,but do not know to whom they should/could go.Why is it that you won't even give it a chance--anger, pain, rejection, sorrow..This is a chance, bro,take it! @NixonisLord It is like something like CS Lewis said,"Jesus existed. No doubt! What is he to you? A liar, a lunatic, or the Son of God?" Lewis, an overwhelmingly brilliant author believed Jesus was the latter. I agree. Read your Bible, with an open mind and heart. Seek God and you will know Him and His amazing love and forgiveness (you see, we've all fallen short of the glory of a righteous God). This is my experience. And I am filled with joy,enough to get through even the bad days.I pray 4U !

The Gospel isGOSPEL,as found in the Bible and is preached completely in it's Truth and Purity.You are deluded and ignorant +I don't know where you come off telling us what you think we believe! I'd be willing to bet that your church is not as Biblical as my LCMS! Are you not the Fundie I spoke w/ B4? You're severely misled--for if you think we do not preach that Christ's death+resurrection saves us-URdeadWRONG!!
