This is a splendid song (by Leroy Carr and Scrapper Blackwell) and a great performance by John Hammond. For making the visual background I used the historic film (one of the very first ever made!) "L'Arrivée d'un train à La Ciotat" (Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat)
by brothers Auguste & Louis Lumière, made in 1895! And certainly I used pieces from Buster Keyton's fantastic film - 'The General' (1927). You probably know that a 2002 worldwide poll by "Sight and Sound" set this movie as the 15th best film of all time!

  • Excellent treatment of a great blues classic!

  • That would be the Panama Limited, the City of New Orleans, or the Creole...three trains that came through Memphis.

  • cool tune, nice viz-u-als

  • I remember that Memphis train. My boyfriend used to come on it from the University of Arkansas.
