Richard Dawkins is a British ethologist, evolutionary biologist and popular science author. He was formerly Professor for Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University. He was voted Britain's leading public intellectual by readers of Prospect magazine and was named one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People" for 2007.

Dawkins came to prominence with his 1976 book "The Selfish Gene", which popularised the gene-centred view of evolution and introduced the term "meme". He is a prominent critic of creationism and intelligent design. In his 1986 book "The Blind Watchmaker", he argued against the watchmaker analogy, an argument for the existence of a supernatural creator based upon the complexity of living organisms. Instead, he described evolutionary processes as analogous to a blind watchmaker. He has since written several popular science books, and makes regular television and radio appearances, predominantly discussing these topics.

Dawkins is an atheist, secular humanist, sceptic, scientific rationalist, and supporter of the Brights movement. In his 2006 book "The God Delusion", he contends that a supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist and that faith qualifies as a delusion − as a fixed false belief.

  • Ben Stein is an idiot

  • Ben Stein's lingering pronunciations were funny in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but now, considering his misguided stance on this issue, his drawn-out vowel sounds, such as in the word "design" just make him sound so smarmy and condescending.

  • How did Ben Stein ever got to be where he is in life is a complete mystery. He is consistently wrong on economic & social issues. We really ought to humiliate him through countless satirical videos.

  • Its intelligence versus stupidity....I feel sorry for people that need to believe fairy stories for some kind of inner strength.

  • @Johnandvanessa Not an idiot, he just has an agenda that comes from his religion & politics.

  • @zachariahm10 : He was merely being facetious because of your ad hominem regarding Dawkins. Clearly, if you thought Dawkins was speaking rubbish you would have specifically attacked the rubbish you thought he was speaking in this video but you did not mention anything Dawkins said in order to show what you disagreed with. Instead you merely attacked him rather than the content of what he said. I'm sure you're aware of this, but you just wanted to be a d.i.c.k.

  • @InsertTruthHere woooow, good job in figuring that out.

  • @zachariahm10 actually he speaks english.

  • brilliant video

  • i could care less of what dawkins has to say..he speaks rubbish

  • Ben Stein, famous for playing the worst actor in a Matthew Broderick film and Eyedrops commercials, now tackling evolution because he found nobody bought Clear Eyes and Viacom decided they wanted to focus on reality T.V. instead of Cartoons, so Ben squabbled around to search for the one group so desperate for famous people they would even accept Darren Ewing, The Discovery Institute, which is famous for constantly confusing me with the Discovery Channel even though it's a polar opposite.

  • Dawkins is talking about panspermia. Ben Stein is inferring a supernatural designer and conflating the two things.
