if you're worried about milk supply, you can hand express about 2 or 3 times a day for the first couple weeks (in addition to nursing piper 8-12x a day) and just that little extra stimulation can really help. (just went to a bfding conference on low supply, pcos, etc) they said that moms that have had supply issues already can start hand expressing colostrum before the baby is born a couple times a day. express it into a plastic spoon and freeze. take to hospital in case supplements needed.

have you looked into WIC? you'd surely qualify since he's out of work.. i'm not sure about AL, but in MS the income limit is about $43K a year for a 4 person family. in MS you can get a medela pump in style if you are returning to work or school. i've mostly heard that i it's not ameda, hygeia, or medela it wont work as well. but you wont really need a pump for the first month or so anyway..

@fakecrab We totally don't qualify for WIC or any government assistance...when I say he doesnt have a job I dont mean totally doesnt have a job; he is working....just not making nearly what he did before. He has his own business so he just doesnt have the job we would like for him to have for us to live like we are use to...which is totally fine!! We are just super thankful for what we do have and that he at least has a job of some form.

lol Zoey is like Jordyn I see she loves barbies Jordyn is loving barbies at this time also. She has a collection going is that tinker bell lol Jordyn has that one. Sorry you have to go through a c-section I don't know if your first one was emergency or planned but when its a emergency you don't have that much time to think about it rather then a planned one you do :( Hope all goes well. I am glad that you and your family are okay. Everyone that has been affected, in all of the states, are in my thoughts.

If you ever move to another house, try to look for one with gas and electric. That is the main thing that we wanted when we were looking. Our hot water heater is gas powered, so when our power goes out we can still get the hot showers/baths.We made sure the stove was gas power so that we can light it to cook. Yay for the 5th, fingers crossed that you will have power by then.

I hope your power comes back on soon and you get your VBAC. however I know of people who have VBA2C so if worse comes to worse and you need a c/s this time you might be able to VBAC again. ((hugs)) and well wishes. stay safe!

Wow, glad that you all are ok! I can't believe she will be here in 5 days!! How insane is that? I hope the power is restored in time for Piper to come. I will be praying for you this week girl :)

Happy Birthday early! Mine is May 4th, lol. May is a great time for birthdays ;) Just wanted to say, I have to have c-sections (due to a car accident that broke my pelvis in 3 places- the docs let me try with my first natural, but no such luck) so I just had my 2nd baby 6weeks ago via a repeat c-scection and let me just say, the recovery time was soooo much better, especially with no labor involved! Hope that helps ease your mind a little. Good luck, will keep you in prayer.

"We have no power, mommy" awe, Zoey is just too sweet. You poor thing, 1 hot shower in almost a week! I can only imagine how yucky your feeling. Yay, for a Cinco de Mayo baby :D I'm more relieved that you've made it to week 37! I was more worried that you'd go earlier than that. So, c-section or by v-back all that matters is Piper is healthy!
