Recap is in the video! ;D I'm so sorry for not updating frequently. Honestly, the summer before senior year is just totally stressful. I haven't even started my summer assignments. Failureee. -____-

Selena eyes flickered in recognition before she rolled then with a resigned sigh.

"Why can't you just let me handle this on my own, Altair?" she griped. "We both know I'm going to do what I want anyways. Especially with this one."

Selena padded over to the door and listened for sounds on the other side before slowly turning the handle and slipping out into the darkened living room. She moved towards the front door, keeping her eyes trained on Nick's sleeping form. He was curled in a ball under the blanket, his arms wrapped tightly around the pillow. The paling moonlight streaming through the window bathed him in a soft white glow, highlighting his mess of dark curls. His chest rose gently and he gave a sleepy murmur before burying his face further in the pillow. If she didn't hate him so much, he'd almost be cute.

As the door closed softly behind her, Nick's eyes flicked open. It wasn't the first time he had heard her sneak out that night. He rose from the couch and crept over to the window. The hardwood floor was cool and rough beneath his feet. Carefully, he peered around the white window frame, his following her retreating figure down the beach.

The sky was beginning to lighten as Selena made her way across the beach. The stars were fading and the night sky was starting to give way to the pink tones of sunrise. Her bare feet slipped in the soft white sand as she made her way to the silver object, the same kind she had found only hours earlier.

"Give it up Altair," Selena condescended to the empty night air, speaking to a man thousands of miles away. A man who was responsible for both giving and taking away the only person she had ever truly loved. "I'm not going to contact you. I'm handling this my way, on my own terms. He's mine and I'm not finished with him yet. I'm not letting him go anywhere. Don't worry. The enemy will be terminated. But not until I've had my fun. He will pay. I'll make very sure of that."

She stared out to the horizon, focusing on the spot where the seemingly motionless water met the sky. At this time of day the sky and water were almost exactly the same color. It was nearly impossible to tell where one ended and the other began. This had been Joe's favorite time to watch the ocean. The morning breeze blew gently against her exposed skin, raising the hairs on her arms. She crossed them tightly against her chest, remembering the times she and Joe had stood in this very spot, she wrapped tightly in his strong embrace, watching the sun emerge from the horizon. A single salty tear slid down her cheek as guilt over what had happened between her and Nick earlier resurfaced.

"I'm so sorry Joe. I didn't mean to kiss him. Please forgive me," she whispered, seeking atonement not only for the kiss, but for her failure to save him. "I'm so sorry I let you down. I'm going to make this up to you. I promise. I will make him pay for taking you away from me."

She drew in a shaky breath as steely resolve replaced the tears in her eyes. A sense of duty overtaking her, she knelt down purposefully and buried the metal sphere deep in the sand. She didn't care what the message from Altair said. She was going to do this her way. A deceitful plan began to form in her head and a small smile unfurled. This was going to be fun.

From his place by the window, Nick frowned. Something was going on. He couldn't seem to shake that familiar feeling, that sense of déjà vu nagging in the back of his mind. The willowy figure turned suddenly and began the trek back towards the house. Nick snapped back from the window, his heart racing. He wondered if she had seen him watching. His thoughts thundered in his head as he contemplated what he should do next.

Nick should:
A. Pretend to be asleep
B. Let Selena know he saw her
