Did she really say successful institution of marriage? Don't 50% end in divorce? If I get a fifty percent in school I do believe it is an indication of failure...
I predict that if prop. 8 fails, a lot of people will find themselves so disgusted with teachers indoctrinating their children, they'll move. Then, California will lose representatives in the house. Those people moving to other states will be more conservative of course. Some state like Utah will have a lot more representatives to vote for President. Dems=owned next election.
Marriage in the great State of California is a legal contract between two people and the State of California. Over 1,000 laws, rights, and obligations come with the legal marriage contract. Civil marriage in California has nothing to do with religion but everything to do with the law. All residents of the State of California must stand before the law as equals. VOTE NO ON 8.
Dear whoever posted this, and everybody voting yes on 8: Why are you so afraid?
Marriage doesn't need help. You're free to believe in the sanctity of marriage. Gays getting married shouldn't change your opinion on marriage. If it does, that's sad. How weak are your beliefs that you can't stand living in a society that doesn't force others to believe the same as you do?
Be strong in your beliefs, but don't force others to believe it too. That's why we live in USA and not pre-colonial England.

Proposition 8 is about removing a current right of gay couples enjoy.
Marriage doesn't need protection especially from Mormons who have higher spousal and child abuse rates.
