  • This is NOT Monteverdi.

Madame Haïm should revise how she approaches to some works. Her Monteverdi (and I'm speaking not only about this cd, but also about her Orfeo) has too too too many ornaments. Monteverdi is NOT belcanto. If Haïm wants ornaments well, she can call Dessay and Villazon and record Lucia with new high notes and new cadences.... But in Monteverdi she CAN'T do this. This is just a comercial approach to Monteverdi, not more.

  • Emmanuelle Haïm still said to day that she wants to feel(smell) the emotion in the baroque.

Interview for the publication of the CD: Lamenti (Villazon, Dessay, Jaroussky etc...)

  • Ahahahhahah amazing... He doesn't sing barocco, but he is surly sympathetic

  • Emmanuelle Haïm chose Villazon as his voice and his interpretation(performance).

Villazon sings the barroque as wants it Emmanuelle Haïm .She decided to make look younger(to modernize) the customs of the barroque

  • Villazon: this is not Otello!!!

  • Villazon does not sing Otello!

He(It) has no idea to sing Otello!

He(It) sings Monteverdi as wishes him Emanuelle Haïm, it is a lot of quality work.

What comes to make Otello in your comment?

You do not love Villazon, it is your right(law).

We do not compare Monteverdi with Otello

  • @asisecanta Actually, you are wrong.

She does and she can. And for those of us who appreciate it, it is wonderful!!!

We all understand that you are very knowledgeable in this stuff and we admire you, so go listen to your old recordings and leave us with Rolando and Haim. Thank you.

  • Le CD est MAGIQUE ! Ils ont du tous se régaler et moi je me régale à l'écouter et à voir ces répés !!!! MERCI !!!!!

  • Voix merveilleuse dans tous les répertoires

  • bla bla bla, who told you all this MONTEVERDI? ha ha ha ! J'aime vraiment cette version donnée à Saint-Denis car il a pu nous transmetre de la vraie EMOTION SVP....un moment de vrai bonheur, et Monteverdi serait sans doute ravi!

  • @asisecanta Isn't it wonderful to live in an age where there are many recordings of different interpretations of the "Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda"? Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were as many recordings of this piece as there are of, say, Beethoven symphonies, because the work was so well-loved, so many different musicians wanted to attempted, and so many people wanted to hear different approaches, and choose their favorite?

  • He's such a great person!!

Like the way he explayns trino! haha :D.

  • @asisecanta Rhis is Monteverdi. Sung by a great artist. Not the Monteverdi you want to hear? Don't!

I find this version beautiful and engaging!

  • @asisecanta I agree 100%
