Also, look up a video titled "Tom Waits - Martha (Rare Live Performance - Denver, CO 1974)" - there Waits pronounces the "Will" much more clearly.

I dont' find it at all difficult to sing to sing with the lyrics "will she remember my old voice".

What I am saying is that the official lyrics, on printed in the album, say "will she rememer my old voice". If you want to hear it more clearly pronounced, search YouTube for the Bette Middler cover of this song.

You can pronounce "will" as pretty much not more than "ll", as it is done in this version. The lyrics that i state are also listed on the official Tom Waits website. Look it up.
