Don Getz can tell you all about painting on gessoed paper and have you painting like a pro in no time flat. Literally watch a painting develop out of a giant wash right before your eyes. Also, make sure to catch some other great information on spattering, lifting, scumbling and creating soft and hard edges. 64 minutes.

For those that can't turn up your speakers, here is a transcription.

So, just keep reminding yourself that when you're scrubbing these areas out, that real nice abstract background it gone. You don't have it anymore. So do this judiciously and make these areas work for you. You can always paint it back in, but that's more labor. I'm just using this same brush. This is a three quarter inch Fritch scrubber that I'm using here. And I think that we should be seeing some trees emanating out of that background
