This massive lake is what flooded into New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit.

  • I can't get over how massive that lake is. I can't imagine all that water pouring into New Orleans. :(

  • oh wow...i didn't know this was a real lake!!

i thought Ludo's song was just a random name...

    oops.

    :[

  • where are the abducting/killer crawfish? lol :)

  • Some may say a very simple video but you have captured something most of us here still in the city (that have had the opportunity to experience everyday) take for granted. Just watching the water splash on the seawall steps is a pleasant sight for anyone far from home. Great idea.

  • 10 years beforee Katrina--in November, 1995, (Katrina hit in August 2005), I crossed the Lake Pontchartrain causeway---east/west east of N'Orleans, over that (corcodile-infested?) swamp, 18 miles, thennorth/south o'er Lake Pontchartrain proper over just water, 24 miles--the longest bridge in the world.

  • It doesn't look Satanic like Ludo's song made it seem like it was.

  • i grew up in lake avenue and i can remember stepping on those exact steps in the vid. After Katrina, i haven't been able to visit lake Pontchartrain much. thanks for uploading!
