  • My dad Lester Colodny wrote and directed this commercial for Xerox...It was shot on Randalls Island in NYC...He used a few NY Jets..Rich Caster caught the t d...I was a kid and there for the shoot...

  • thank you for providing us with some of the "rest of the story". I would love to hear more about the filming and the back story. What year was it shot?

  • I have no idea how you got this pre VCR days vintage ad that I saw ONE TIME ONLY when it was current, but my sincere thanks. I must've told hundreds of people about it over the decades since it aired. Now I know where to send them.

  • Glad you got a good chuckle out of it... I remember it as a kid seeing it and was able to find a copy of it. Take care.

  • what year did this come out?

  • I really don't know... early 70's I believe... I remember seeing it as a kid and was able to find a copy of it

  • I think this was 1976. Maybe 1975.

  • The Greatest commercial I've ever seen. I think I saw it on tv, once, in the early 70s.

I've toold peopole about it and nobody else has ever remembered it. I love it!!!

  • The defense is mostly the Kennedy Gaels football team from fall 1971. I had a chem regents exam and missed this. Its Mark Anderson's foot steps you hear. He died in a car crash that summer. The guy making a tackle is I think Tommy McGowan who then won the first "Mark Anderson" trophy. Bill Kenny and Al Santoro are I think the two would be tacklers at the end.

  • Outstanding ad.

  • @rogerrodd

same for me i remember seeing it like once and have thought about it for years

  • @mrmantra69 How cool! You should write your memories of the shoot, if you haven't already.

    Way to go, Colodny! :)

  • Whoa! Also, just 2 seconds in!

Won't bug you anymore - just assume I'm getting blown away, looking for gorillas!

    :)

  • Damn, you're right! Gorilla at 1:05! Gotta watch it again, more carefully...
