oh i already bought the chain style vol 1. i thought it would take longer to ship but it is shipping and cant cancel. is it ok if i know basic mantis ecercise and the mnatis claw and some moves, to use this dvd instead because i am kind of on a budget. please answer and help, is it still good to use chain style vol 1 to help me further my skill and knowledge of praying mantis seven star?

@BeybladeBrawls Yes, this set is typically a beginning set in most SSPM schools. The chain styles you're referring to is actually a mix of chained techniques spanning beginning to intermediate motions and theories, so it's a bit more advanced in that sense. I'd recommend looking at Bong Bo, Bai Yuan Tou Tao and the upcoming Mantis Fundamentals 1 DVDs as starting places. Sorry to hear about your teacher moving, hope you are able to continue your studies.

@BeybladeBrawls All the ones I mentioned... they are all Northern Mantis/Seven Star Praying Mantis system forms. A list of our currently available ones can be found at martialskill (dot) com

Good set. I'm learning this now and I'm wondering what the application to your first movement is compared to how I am learning it? I'm referring to the wrist strike out at a 45 similar to the start of Bung Bo.

Hi, the first motion is that of steals the peach, which is a groin strike while moving off-angle from your opponent. In this form it is typically done with a negative diu/hook punch.
