Peaked at #18 on the Billboard Charts in December 1978 ~
Ranked #96 in the Billboard Top 100 of 1979 ~
I still have the vinyl ~ I still love Nigel ~
We share our February 10 birthday ~
Nigel was a member of the original three piece Elton John band;
Dee Murray died in 1992 from skin cancer ~
I own none of this but Nigel still owns a special bit of my heart ~
I am grateful to have collected some fabulous Elton books ~
I will never forget 1982 at Oakland Coliseum.

  • Thanks to each of you for remembering Nigel one of my fondest memory musicians for oh-so many reasons.

    What an awesome story! I've seen Reg 15 times, each with distinct memories, as is his style. Halloween 1994 was fun ~ Transvestites danced around the stage during "The Bitch is Back!"

    I only wish I had purchased some Nigel goo back then, but I was too young to have an income and you could just never know where to spend the little you were given. I have some nice EJ trinkets.

  • what a fantastic song, i got to see Nigel in 1984, with Elton,Dee and Davey, the breaking hearts tour it was the orig elton line up, in Tampa fl and i kid you not Elton stripped all the way down to his sasoon skivies (sasoon was the promoter)it was so cool.

  • @2StackMac

    I've seen Elton 18 or so times and have witnessed some fun. I don't think it was water he was drinking in '79 when he made comments about Roy Rogers & Dale Evans and just who got stuffed in the bedroom! I was 12 and the innuendo did not escape me. That was with Ray Cooper in Berkeley, 3,000 people. Davey and Kenny Passarelli sat a few rows up ~ got autographs.

    I look forward to seeing Bernie on his art tour this year. He has a great website now, thanks to wife, Heather, I believe.

  • Dee died in 1992.

    OMG you're right, of course. Complete typo. I'll never forget the moment I learned and where I was. Thank you for the correction.
