In '83 I got one of these used as my first bike. I remember it having enough power to flip my 250 lb. dad on his ass. I rode that thing everywhere. I don't know how far I went overall but I know it wore out 3 rear tires, and two sets of sprockets before the rod bearing finally wore out. That thing ran forever, and it never blew it up or left me stranded once in all those miles. (I did always carry a spare spark plug though ;) I also remember went 42 miles on a tank of gas.

i have a 1984 yz80 bored to a 85 wiseco piston and ignition tricked out for bigger spark:)
these bikes are amazing, i love flying 250 four strokes in fourth gear just hanging on the back wheel:) i highly recomend you get a wiseco piston if you dont have one yet :)

When I was a kid, I wanted one of the european red and white yz's. They only had yellow in the states.

@macroevolve yes, its strange, over here in england the yellow yz's are very popular, i think it was 1985 when yamaha went with the white and red colours in the US and europe.
