***OBVIOUS SPOILER WARNING***

Until high quality is available, add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL for high quality.

Party (everyone begins at level 92):
Allegretto (Silver Star, Lion Armor, Werewolf Choker, Recovery Orb)
Jazz (Bezwell's Sword, Fragment, Power Ring, Seven Stars [changed to Solomon's Ring after 1st battle])
Falsetto (Lord's Reign, Concealing Jacket, Power Ring, Recovery Gloves)

In Eternal Sonata's second playthrough (called Encore Mode), all enemies receive a 50% boost in attack and defense and their HP doubles. It's not much harder than the normal playthrough, in my opinion (except for that one boss...), but the final dungeon can be made incredibly easy if you tackle the Mysterious Unison first. Want to see what happens when you're extremely overleveled? Then watch this.

Herculean Boar: Taken down before he can even attack.
Hidden One: Also taken down quickly, but because he has less HP than the previous boss, he enters his weakened stance after attacking with Retto.
Unrest: This one was a train wreck. Falsetto was too far away from the boss, so she couldn't do nearly enough damage (plus that prevented me from getting two harmony chains in round one [though the latter could have been avoided]). Next round of attacks, I get confused with the moving commands and press the wrong button twice. Eventually, I take down the boss and proceed to easily dispose of the Fire Antiques. Following this boss, I make sure to jam Falsetto against the rest to make sure this doesn't happen again.
White Jewel: Rebounding from a terrible previous fight, I wipe the floor with this one.
Ruined Body: The mineral powder may have made Legato mutate into a ferocious beast, but he's still no match for this trio. Destroyed just like the others.
Frédéric François Chopin: At the time, I was never able to defeat him in one round. However, equipping Power Rings and Burst-inducing accessories to Retto and Falsetto managed to finish him off before his first attack (which was after I made this video). I've never seen him use Applaudissement Sonique (he always used Orzel Bialy before), but it did very little damage anyway (which everybody recovers next turn).

  • This is a great game, but wayyy too easy - even in Encore mode. Encore mode was a lot harder, but once you reach To Coda Ruins, it's really easy again.

  • @merzitar

The only part of Encore mode I had trouble with was the first Dolce fight. Everything else didn't seem tougher (aside from taking a bit longer to defeat bosses).

  • @Groudon0199 I agree. Actually, I found the first Dolce really hard on both Playthroughs... which for that reason, makes it my favourite battle.

  • no comments? Great vid :)
