http://www.gtrusablog.com Video of comparison of a Tomei Oil Pump vs a Jun Oil Pump. The gear in the Tomei oil pump is about twice the size of the gears in most of the other aftermarket RB26 oil pumps.

  • check out the nitto oil pump. its used in lots of spazmo aussie rb's. probably the best pump you can get before going dry with an external res... (imo)

  • @djhatton from what I remember all the nitto stuff looked like Chinese knock off's of other parts. The oil pump being a knock off of a Tomei.

  • Thanks for quick reply.. i'am building a new engine for min R32GTR. but power wont be above 550HP and i'am using single turbo conversion. Dont know if i should use the N1 pump as it is right now ? Heard alot of rumers whith the N1 Pumpe, but stille some big powered cars use stock N1 pump.. Dont have money for a Tomei pump, but if one is using a big flow pump one would have to get an sump extension also

  • @Jakobsen86 I would rather see an OEM stock pump vs an N1. We had a whole lot of them fail. Almost like there was a problem in one of the batches.

  • Have you tried the N1 Pump whith Reimax gears ? Have a brand new N1 Oilpump from Japan, dont know if i should buy a set of reimax gears for it? ore sell and get another pump ?

  • @Jakobsen86 I have not tried the Reimax gears in a pump, but Reimax makes some very good parts. Over all other pumps, the Tomei is the best because the gears are much larger.

  • what about HKS oil pump

  • @tyndago seems you remember pretty badly! the nitto is a) aussie not chinese b) an original design not a knock-off and c) very high quality. the (oversize) gears are wedm cut therefor very strong and highly accurate. the backing plate is 7000-series billet. the tomei's only real advantage is that you can adjust pressure externally. they're both great pumps but for the price, it would be hard to ignore the nitto.

  • do you know how much each of these pump flow (cc/rotation?)

I am considering a dry sump setup using external oil pump from large tractors or other industrial machinery

  • I dont understand whay everyone goes for the shitty N1?

Rewlimiter should not be higher than like 6500rpm:s or so.

Have seen a lot of skylines tuned to arround 700hp with the N1 pump

installed, and with their limiters set at 8500....And with stock valvesprings too. What a fucked up waste of money and time. Sorry...

  • @tyndago Greddy and JUN have the exact same design, gear size, backing plate etc...

  • You are probobly right in the comparission on the Stock OEM and N1 pump..
