San Fernando Valley Town Hall (part 2)

Lots of people with their own pet agendas outside the meeting. This woman had lots of 'facts' about immigration into California to promote her agenda.

The fact is that without illegal immigration the state would grind to a halt.

And people would have to do their own gardening and house cleaning. Perish the thought.

Of course I personally would never hire illegal immigrants, becasue it's well...illegal. But I had to make my point.

As an immigrant myself I know the hardship of coming to a new country legally. I can only imagine the horror of coming in illegally, especailly as a de facto member of LA's underclass.

I'll never forget the first time I came across a "Rape Tree" in the desert of New Mexico. Or smelled an illegal alien city that was in the middle of an old field, that was concealed from view by hills in Central CA. It was another world. Whenever I hear the "I don't want to pay $___ for a tomato..." I realize that these people are just modern day slave owners, only worse. The economic arguments in support of illegal immigration, are identical to the slavery apologists of the 19th century.

Gee, maybe it has something to do with the tens of thousands of illegal Mexicans that have marched in our streets waving the Mexican flag,carrying signs claiming this is their land while promising to take it back and telling us all to self deport back to Europe. Let's not mention the burning of the American flag while they insist that we suspend our laws to accomadate them!

Illegal immigration is a symptom of a bad quality immigration policies and the better the policy the smaller the illegal immigration - I do not think illegal immigration is the answer either - I just view it as a problem and guest workers schemes are just delaying immigration recognition for 20 years or so.
