  • So I was watching this video and had a question. Says in most cases the fast idle on electric choke is good without adjustment. Does this mean I could remove this arm from my carb? Having an issue with the arm clearing my manafold and could could use the space

  • @BoogdieB The fast idle cam is the red elbow shaped arm below the choke housing.

It is automatically tuned to time out the opening of the choke plate during fast idle or curb idle.

You could remove the arm if you want but would render the function of the choke housing useless.

As long as you loosen the three screws on the choke cover and dial the choke plate all the way open while the engine is cold, you shouldn't affect the performance of the carb by removing the fast idle choke cam

  • I've only got one thing to say, "EDELBROCK"

  • @jazzmember4life We used to play around with other brands of carbs, then we began tuning the Holley correctly. We would never go back to the tuning limitations of any other brand of carb. The tuning possibilities of Holley are way more detailed allowing better customization...once you know how to correctly finesse the various circuits, which is why we produced the 2 hour DVD that this short clip comes from.

  • what are the pros and cons forusing a super coil?

  • @srvforme a larger, modern coil will give you much stronger spark and will allow you to burn the entire mixture introduced to the cylinder during intake.

If you have an older 'points' style ignition, you'll definitely see an improvement in efficiency and dependability if you update the ignition and coil to electronic spark and stronger coil

  • @stang1973 What kind of fuel are you using reg. or prem. Cause I have a 85 caprice with a crate 350 that I've been building and if I run anything but prem gas when I turn it off it like chitty chitty bang bang.

  • @smittylilD LMAO!!!!! probably because its a little off topic and i hate honda

  • @wthompson1981 #1 whats the compression ratio ? high compression takes high octane fuel, but things like to fast curb idle, a plug heat range to high can cause diesel after run , Chevy had anti diesel selinoids starting in about 73 that when the ignition is turned off it alows the throtel plates to completly close ,eliminating the to fast idle after run, make sure the curb idle screw is back off enough to alow the plates to close and make idle speed adjustments on the selinoid .

  • OMG they still use carburators and EU and japan use multipunct EFI :))).dog americans are so stiff when it comes to cars :))))they know shit

  • Better delete electric choke , and instal an manual .. for better gas milage in the summer .

  • The arm I am talking about is the one that has the idle screw on it.

  • @FroopieLoopies We hear that from people that don't know how to tune Holley's.

That opinion is why we made the Holley Tuning and Install DVD. If you watch it...you won't hate on Holley anymore...lot's of fine tuning ability when you know what you're doing.
