It will be an FIVB World Tour men's gold medal match to remember as Brazilians Marcio Araujo and Fabio Magalhaes won the $600,000 Smart Grand Slam when Germany's Eric Koreng could not finish the title match with partner David Klemperer due to heat exhaustion. For the record, reigning FIVB World champions Marcio Araujo and Fabio split the $43,500 first-place prize by winning by forfeit over the underdog Germans as Koreng could not continue when the Brazilians scored a point to tie the match at 9-9 in the third set. Klemperer and Koreng won the first set 21-15 with Marcio Araujo and Fabio rebounding with a 21-16 edge in the second set. (WCSN, WCSN.com)
