Too many Democrats voted to repeal the Glass-Steagal Act and voted in the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Though I wish it weren't so, the Dems were complicit with the downfall of the economy over that time, but there is still a big difference in the two parties. Dems downfall is the Bluedogs, the New Democratic Coalition and the DLC, who are just there to weaken any strong Progressives Democratic bills to begin with to the point where Rethugs then can come in&get their way, and call it bipartisanship..

It's liberal arrogance in thinking republicans are inept. What they've been doing since the 20's is systematically undermining capitalism through deregulation schemes. Dems go along with it unwittingly like lemmings by playing into arbitrary regulatory bureaucracies which provide fodder for dereg propaganda until you have a country that believes all regulation is bad...Marx spelled out how to bring down capitalism. By fundemental deregulation leading to monopolies and mass inequality.

Personally, I think both parties are full of crooks and sleazoids, but I'll pretty much always, with a few exceptions ie local politics, vote Democrat, cause I see the Republican big whigs as just taking hypocrisy and sleaze to a whole other level.

Typical. Stop calling the 'Conservatives', conservative. They haven't tried to maintain the status quot since 1981. The term to describe their political outlook is "Reactionary" and when that term comes back into fashion, this country might have a chance.

You're not being realistic. Liberals and moderates alone can't banish these crooks from power. A majority of Americans (falsely) self-identify as conservatives. We'll need cooperation from some of them, and it'll be a hell of a lot easier to convince them that these policies are NOT conservative policies than it will be to convince them that they're not really conservatives. Not after a 30 propaganda campaign that has successfully convinced them they ARE.

@TrollBuster9090 If conservatives are to stubborn to think for themselves that's not liberals fault that's their own, and if they choose to uphold their stupidity they can fall with it, because america doesn't need that kind of stupidity. And we can't wait for them to get their heads out of their asses!

This "trickle-down" economic policy should not be referred to as "a true conservative economic policy." It's not. It is, in fact, a plutocratic economic policy, designed by the wealthy to benefit the wealthy, regardless of social or economic ideology. Plutocrats have merely suckered social conservatives into supporting it.
Whenever liberals call plutocrat policies "conservative policies" they only succeed in encouraging conservatives to support something that they otherwise might NOT.
You don't have to look hard to see the black hearts of the republicans...

this video would be a great ad for the electorate to see! the sob's calling themselves patriots, while putting their own people in their districts out of jobs, should be arrested for treason! we need to enforce the anti-trust laws on the books, stop the "free trade" which ruins whole communities, while the rich spend overseas with u.s. tax breaks given to them by the mcconnells and boehners in the government they've ran into the ground!
