When I first saw the ship when I played the game I was reminded of Dead Space 2 (I played Dead Space before I played Metroid)

Best of the ship valhhalla is one of the rooms you pass by and find 2 marines.
one that has failed the battery of Phazon and the other is what is eating the Phazon. There are also two pools of Phazon

This is probably the most haunting place in the Prime series. Its kinda like a nightmare come to life. But I think Metroid Fusion has this game beat in the creepiness factor.
