University of Minnesota researchers have pinpointed the gene that causes exercise induced collapse in dogs. Dogs that have this disease will collapse in their hind legs and if the collapses continue, it can lead to death.

  • mmy 3yrs old lab has this....10 mins and she is out. but she is a super happy, super lovable, great shape, always wants to be retrieving things....sucks though...she can only enjoy it for like 10 mins. and she is super excitable which is common with dog who have eic, she also has many many allergies :(

  • i think Labrador Retriever breeders should get their Labs tested for it.. My Lab is now 4 1/2 and she's very healthy and does not have this condition :)
