Did you guys enjoy the Magic Debate? I sure had a fun time "Mass Debating" with everybody (LOL-Sorry)! Anyway, lets move on with the Japan 1979 concerts! Here, Queen play two consecutive nights in Fukuoka Japan! This is the first concert. The quality is decent, and it's about 90% complete (It's Late is heavily cut, the Brighton Rock section is also heavily cut, and there's a few small cuts throughout the concert). Freddie's voice is in terrible shape on this concert (unbelievably he's worse here than on the previous few gigs--and on the next gig, it's even worse), but he tries his best to cope with his faltering voice. The rest of the band put in strong performances, and help out Freddie the best they can!

TSS_Killer and myself sat through this concert a few times (honest), and made a list of the worst versions of songs (which are worse than 4/25 and 4/28)! Here's a partial list:

1. Worst ever version of the fast We Will Rock You.
2. Worst ever version of '39.
3. Worst ever performance of Bohemian Rhapsody-complete with every band member making up notes/chords/rhythms, Freddie squealing notes in the 1st verse, voice giving out in the 2nd verse, and making up new key signatures in the rock section!
4. Most of the other songs on this concert are on par with 4/25 and 4/28. 5/1 (the next concert) is where most of the other "worst" versions of songs are from!

ENJOY (Or try to)!!!

  • My favorite Bohemian Rhapsody is the one in Japan 1975 when he was drunk.

  • Osaka 1976 is a funny gig!

  • Even I have to admit this is pretty bad.... but what it proves to me is that they were at least human. :)

  • I agree!

  • After calling many "bad gigs" good I have to say my verdict on this one= This really is the worst "Bohemian Rhapsody" performance out there. The softer parts failed brutally with chord problems and Merc's vocal problems. Luckily the rock part went better. (Though Mercury avoided all of the highs there)

  • This version is so awesome! I just love all the bad notes and random cracks into the 6th octave! :D
