Contra: Hard Corps (Probotector in Europe) is a side scrolling run and gun style shooter game released by Konami for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive video game console in year 1994. It is the only installment of Contra that was released for the Sega platform. A unique feature to Contra Hard Cops is the addition of branching paths that allows the player to play through a different set of stages depending on key decisions made during key moments of the game's story. There are four possible paths in the game, each with its own ending, as well as hidden bonus stage for a total of five different endings. The Japanese version was made significantly easier than its American counterpart due to the addition of a life gauge that allows the player to take three hits from an enemy before losing a life.

They made the American version a bit too hard. The Japanese version is report to be easier with extra life bars and unlimited continues.

This is one of the better Contras. It was nice to see an exclusive to the Genesis. There's 2 or 3 parts in the gameplay where if you had the homing missile power up you could get up to 99 men.
