Flight aboard the Collings Foundation B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine-O-Nine". Nice shots flying through broken clouds and buzzing the airshow at the Tacoma Narrows Airport.

  • I love this, and although I'm blind, I really appreciated the sound. I'm usually not a fan of overlaid music, but in this case, it was well placed, and it didn't take anything away from the actual footage which is great.

  • @heatherstub

If you like the sound on this one you will really enjoy my video of a flight on their B25 Mitchell. It has engine backfires, engine synchronization at take-off, and at the end the alarm bells to alert people to get seated for landing. Just check for my other videos or with my name as the keywords I also have one riding the B24.

  • @drdale1 How long have you toured the Collings Foundation planes? I've only seen Witchcraft, Nine O Nine and Betty Jane. Not to long ago they were in my town for the second time.

  • @BlackWiiOwner2010

I suppose it was the early 90's when I first saw them. I missed my chance back then to ride in a B29. They owned the B-29 FiFi then It has since been sold and is not in flying condition. I don't think any B-29 is flying.

  • I have one of these planes in my garden, he fell out of the sky on my granpa's land in juli 1944

  • Where is that??

  • @drdale1 Very cool! I didn't know they owned "Fifi" at one time. That's to bad Fifi isn't flying anymore. Maybe one day it will. I first learned about the Collings Foundation on the Military Channel remembering the red paint around Witchcrafts engine housings and the color of Nine O Nine, mainly the blue paint and the guy on the side. Some time later I learned the war birds were coming to town. To my surprise when I saw them I remembered the program and was really excited to see them in person.

  • Very cool. Would love to fly in one someday.

  • I first got to see the Nine-O-Nine back in 1986 here in Massachusetts.. This past September (2010) I saw it again.

  • Thanks for the great video.

  • It is a G model

  • can i have it?
