  • i have a 97cr-v but my mazda mpv awd is better in my opinion

  • @omglolwatermelon I think you have a locking center differential in you MPV instead of a dual hydraulic pump rear differential (with clutch on both wheel) on the CRV. So it surely do a big difference 1st gen of Honda CRV AWD are "correct", nothing more, but it do the job if you are stuck. I don't test it, but 2nd and 3rd generation of Honda AWD are supposed to be better than 1st one (react more quickly). A mecanician at my Honda dealer told me that this system was very simple, but never break.

  • Nice ride! Does your crv come with 4wd?

  • @honda27crv : yes, it was the 1st generation of CRV real time AWD, a little slow to react but it do the job well as you can see. I sold the CRV in 2008 for an Suzuki Grand Vitara V6 with a much better 4x4 system.

  • @honda27crv I sold it at around 100 000 miles, but you're right, with a good proper maintenance you can do a lot of millage on a Honda. A friend of mine have a CRV like this, and he past the 200 000 miles mark. The only problem he had was a replacement of the driving shaft at around 100 000 miles (frequent known problem on this generation). I sold mine only to have better comfort in general and better 4x4 system, cause i do a lot of highway (and winter is sometime real bad here in Quebec!).

  • " Combat Recovery Vehicle " LOL!!!!

  • @omglolwatermelon my car is a 95 MPV 4wd. Yes it has the locking diff too:). Havent missed a day of work due to weather since Ive had it. 209k miles on the original engine.

  • I've got 217K miles on my 5 speed '99. Has been VERY troublefree. Original clutch, original struts and axles. Only recently put new rear brake shoes on it (myself), originals lasted 216K miles. OEM front pads usually last 85K miles. And I do tow alot with it.

  • I know what u mean!! Ian thinking about buying a new 2011 Honda crv! They are very comfortable and reliable as always!!

  • I drove a vitara one time, good suv! How many miles did u clock into ur Honda? They keep going and going! I hope mine makes it to 200,000 miles that would be great!
