no it wasn't, what are you talking about, the Luger was designed by Georg Johann Luger of Austria, not in america

@xxuncexx K98 had a greater effective range and was better reliability wise. But garand had a better rate of fire (due to semi auto instead of bolt action) and a larger capacity (8 round as opposed to 5). But when out of ammo, the garand made a "ping" noise that would inform the enemy of them being out of ammo. That's why, for a while, the US experimented with plastic clips to reduce the "ping" but eventually decided "Eh screw it".
