How encouraging palm sugar production avoids trees being cut (Kompong Chhnang). Palm trees are a symbol of the nation. Yet they are being cut all over the country. To prevent this, some NGO's and farmers are trying to promote the quality of Cambodian Palm Sugar. This is a sequence extracted from the Equity Weekly TV show #1, broadcast on 20 May 07, produced by UNDP and TVK, with support from SIDA, AusAid, Canadian International Development Agency and Irish Aid as part of the SDEP (Strengthening Democracy and Electoral Processes in Cambodia) project of UNDP CAMBODIA. • Cambodians should invest heavly on machinaries to mass produce these palm sugar and export them. We Cambodians can compete with other countries like thai and vietnam if we open up and invest on newer and better way to produce this product.

  • It needs to be produced and marketed as "organic palm sugar". It's much more healthy than cane sugar and white sugar. There is a growing international demand for it.

  • amazing !

  • why is a second step ?
