4k intro (a 4096 bytes executable file) for the 4k intro competition at Assembly 2008 in Helsinki, Finland.

The original real-time executable (for reasonably fast Windows PCs) can be downloaded here: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=51114

  • This has an old-school feel, but a new-school look and sound. What a brilliant production!

  • @ekovzy ;)

  • @shairaptor lol sure do 4k and we talk hahaha

  • @nMAPPER yeah i understand. but not necessary anymore in times of 4gb ram and terabytes of hdd and fast cpus, etc

  • @shairaptor

There is no challenge in coding a 4gb demo that looked like this, you could use prerendered HD video and it would fit. But do the same with a binary 4kilobytes in size...

The issue is not RAM but being hardcore enough to stuff all that in to 4k

  • impressive. but nonetheless not a necessity nowadays to cram something like this into 4K, when it can occupy 4 GB easily and STILL fit into RAM, so why the inconvenience? to show of? Well... ;)

  • Impressive!

  • 256 metaballs should be enough for everyone

  • Looks kinda like the bloodgod effecr from Blade (the movie)! Wonder if that was made inside 4K as well? ;)
