First look at the new Breakdown AK47 from US Palm that was introduced today at SHOT Show 2012
This is the carbine model of the new AK47 from U.S.Palm in Scottsdale, AZ
Their new AK design uses a new front (barrel) trunnion that has two parts and can break apart with the push of a button and a 60 degree turn with interrupted threads. The two parts can then be assembled again and click into place without any tools or buttons to push or levers to flip. Instantly ready for action.
On this AK Breakdown model with a 16 inch barrel and fixed stock, the two parts are approx the same length.
US Palm plans to also produce a Short Barrel (SBR Krink) model soon that will not need to remove the dust cover, bolt & bolt carrier and recoil spring
The Breakdown Krink AK47 model with a folding stock and short barrel will fit into a standard men's size 12 shoe box when broken down.
When used with the new 30 round double stack AK47 magazine (See our review) this will be an extremely small and efficient firearm system

@RealEveryDay "I blame this same apathetic behavior for the perpetuation of the misconception that the NDAA of 2012 gives the government the power to instantly deport anyone they want to Gitmo."
They either don't read it or they don't read it in context. I would dare say most of them have never read a word of it. I watched somebody on one of these channels quote the exception language about 4 times and explain it in detail and still nobody got it.

@RealEveryDay And also removing all of the trunnion but the plate that reveals the SN. That would first require a definite legal opinion by ATF. Although, it would appear that ATF could claim that this is at least "tampering" with the device that SN is engraved on. In which case, a person could do this with a trunnion that was not originally riveted to that receiver, which would be a good reason to not receive an approval from BATFE (& sometimes Y).

The only legal way I can think of ATM, is that if they were to modify the existing trunnion by adding & removing material as needed to accept the conversion parts. This, of course, would mean that the trunnion remain riveted to the receiver the whole time & the serial number remain unaltered. I was considering the possibility of welding the gap between the LH side of the trunnion to the receiver, in order to permanently affix the serial number before removing the rivets.

I find it disturbing that there are so many people in general that confuse this 922(K) violation with 922(R). For those besides RealEveryDay & mikeah9000, please physically look @ the GCA of 1968 and do yourselves a favor and stop trying to confuse logic with law.

@RealEveryDay I seriously hope this is true. I did contact US Palm via e-mail before posting 1 word about it in public. I then sought to have the videos of the violation removed by contacting the ULers directly. I then tried to get viewers to understand that this was not something they should plan for their Russian or Bulgarian rifles. The ULer of the video that this is a video response to did not understand that point so he removed all of my comments.

@mikeah9000 I just read this reply to another (non-YouTube) video titled "Travis Haley's Take on the US PALM Takedown AK #SHOTShow" supposedly FROM US Palm in response to a post I made about it: "Thank you for your comment, we really appreciate your attention to detail and concern for our compliance. We have addressed and rectified the issues you have stated. Thank you again for looking out for us and all those who have shared video of our product."

@mikeah9000 I'm glad someone has the capacity to read & understand English themselves. I blame this same apathetic behavior for the perpetuation of the misconception that the NDAA of 2012 gives the government the power to instantly deport anyone they want to Gitmo. The text of the bill couldn't be clearer, but those who oppose seem to prefer to repeat what they hear instead of reading it for themselves. I was worried that no one else would ever "get" this, so, thank you kindly.

@mikeah9000 You are correct. I suppose the site doesn't allow hot-linking. Either way, it is posted on the HKForum under the thread "ATF Ruling on SL8/G36 Conversions". Googling those terms with the quotes pulls it up as the first result.
