  • lol, there is a reason why you don't see many.

    Unless you have a Rotary or a V8, or atleast a turbo/sc, they won't stand a chance.

The car is more for handeling than straight line speed. otherwise, just go get an S2000.

  • couldn't agree more wiht the above statement. I don't expect blitering times in the mx-5. More of an adrenaline rush than anything. But lets see 99% of those cars take the mx-5 in an auto-x cross :D

  • Miata is a track car or just a fun car to have was never intended to be a drag car but put a ls1 in it and it will just rape all around

  • which one is faster ? soft top or hard top miata ?

  • Not bad me and my dad race. I currently have a 1970 oldsmobile stock that can go 13 seconds, my dad has a 1968 oldsmobile thats loud as hell and is pro. he go 10 to high 9 seconds and my dads friend has a 1971 olds that is super pro and goes 8 seconds.

  • Why should you race on a straight line?

The fact that you guys in the US are the only ones doing this doesn't make you think? :-)

    Ciao!

  • So that would mean the new MX5 could hang with the latest Civic Si, despite its near 200hp, not bad I'd say for 170hp.

  • Damn 8.5 second 1/4 mile before the MX5. Would like to have seen that. I think the MX5 is more for track though. Sick car too.

  • Agreed, You don't care about quater mile times in a MX5, But having owned one I would have to say it was the most fun and best handling car I have owned, and I have owned many sports cars that were much faster than the MX5.

  • That was a great start. Never thought I'd see an MX-5 at the drag strip :)
