@dallas222888 Because i'ts American Folk music, and they wrote about events of their time. I don't think anyone is going to update the lyrics to "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" to, say, "The Night They Drove Old Baghdad Down". You have a start on writing your own song---go with it. I think John's is fine just as it is.
