Some Moon close up shots from my back yard in Terrace, B.C. Canada.

Seeing conditions were below average. Transparency was poor with some thin high cloud. 12.5" Newt/Dob f/4.8 (30mm e.p. filmed with a Canon ZR-80)

Still, it was nice to finally get the scope out. Viewing from the eyepiece is always better than my camera will show.

Did you see the happy face?

  • nice orl

i have a skywatcher 300p and a web cam what was the x on the video cam you used ?

  • @todd8137 -thanks Todd, the video cam was set at 10X optical.

  • @redshift40 once again great detail, never tried a focal like this,i was going to buy one last year but never got round to it

  • @todd8137 -if you ever get the chance, buy a Pentax EP. They are one of the best IMHO. I have a 5mm and the views are incredible, flat across the whole field and 20mm eye relief (great for those who wear glasses)

  • This is beautiful! Great shots!

  • @Edsan91 -Thanks! Part of this film was shown on Daily planet with Jay on the discovery channel.

  • I think I saw Allen Shepard's lost golf ball!

  • Precioso. Wonderful.

  • pause at :12 anyone see the smiley face? lol

  • @ankhaton - like I said, a telescope of 600 feet in diameter would be needed. No telescope on earth could photograph the rover at 1/4 million million miles away. Even Hubble couldn't, you would need to have a large telescope in orbit around the moon.
