when some people think of a web server they may thing super computer, complicated, and £££$$$. this is far from true. you can have a simple Pentium 2 computer as your web server.

here is a video to help you setup the apache web server on windows 2000 pro on your LAN. it is free for the apache server software and simple to setup.

have a good time with your new server!

please remember to rate and comment this video. so i can see if any parts need changing or more explaining. thanks.

  • This isnt even an webserver its just a index page stored on your pc like you would do in web development

  • @TheTaylo105 this part is true, but in later videos I show you how to make the server accsessible to public IPs, PHP and more soon

  • i can't view my "page" from another computer on the LAN. it prompts : connection refused by the server . what can i do about this ?

  • @skateriosh make sure that port 80 on the server is unblocked. checkout Having A Problem With An Apache Server ?

  • @MilburnsNZ Got it working

  • Does it work on windows7?

You cant save over the document.

  • Some service providers (COX) block port 80 so just use port 8000 or 8080 instead. Now if you change the ports, when you type your ip address into your web browser type say 204.168.33.12 (say thats your ip address) then put :8080 or whatever port you changed it to.

  • have fun with your ISP (Internet service provider) kicking you off your plan with them, or you getting some huge bill from them, your normal DSL or T1 isnt set up to hand a large flow of up and downloading data, just warning you your ISP is gonna freak, ... also if anything illegal gets uploaded your the one who is gonna go down for it... and im just saying , someone fucking sicko can upload some child porn, then call the cops and tell them you have child porn on your property....

  • Not sure what this is for.....Is it like free INTERNET

Or is this just for people who want to build websites?

  • 15 people deleted the Htdocs folder. ;D

  • good vid

  • people stop asking stupid questions !! this is all common sence ! didnt you see the video ? so wtf is your problem.....
