Some service providers (COX) block port 80 so just use port 8000 or 8080 instead. Now if you change the ports, when you type your ip address into your web browser type say 204.168.33.12 (say thats your ip address) then put :8080 or whatever port you changed it to.

have fun with your ISP (Internet service provider) kicking you off your plan with them, or you getting some huge bill from them, your normal DSL or T1 isnt set up to hand a large flow of up and downloading data, just warning you your ISP is gonna freak, ... also if anything illegal gets uploaded your the one who is gonna go down for it... and im just saying , someone fucking sicko can upload some child porn, then call the cops and tell them you have child porn on your property....

This isnt even an webserver its just a index page stored on your pc like you would do in web development

i can't view my "page" from another computer on the LAN. it prompts : connection refused by the server . what can i do about this ?

@skateriosh make sure that port 80 on the server is unblocked. checkout Having A Problem With An Apache Server ?
