@isaacbalwit Kerosene is heavy and hard to pack. Plus it burns hot but very quickly so you must get your fire established quickly when dealing with it which may prove difficult with things like wet materials and can take quite a lot of the heavy liquid. A 5 minute slow burn that is a light weight, easily store-able, non-explosive, safe, and reliable is a better survival option.

shouldn't burn your food supply.....just save your dryer lint or get some cotton balls and dip them in Vaseline and pack in a baby food jar (can get around 50 balls in a single jar ) each ball will burn for 5 minutes
