  • Make a box from metal. Hydrogen in on one side, out on the other. Fill box (realy stuff it) with "steel wool". Not the fine tread, but the one to clean cooking pan's. This will absorb the heat of the flame and prevent it fom goiing into the hydrogen generator. The fine steel wool will burn, so don't use that. For safety, don't scip the cork

  • sounds interesting... John AArons

  • Why not use a flame arrester as used in gas-welding equipment to be safe? I think the corks may not be enough ...

  • I am looking at that along with the bubble up system. The problem is that Hydrogen burns much quicker than most gas and the valve may not be quick enough to stop the flash back. Until I know I can't depend on that. John AArons

  • It works, need to get an ossiacetylene arrestor.

I tried to turn on the gas with this arrestor and the flame goes back to the flame arrestor and stops

  • Thanks I will look into it. John AArons

  • steel wool rusts big time, so do the "copper" scrub pads...

  • John, By glueing our cork seals only to the clear cylinder's top and bottom (not the lid or bottom plates) and adding springs under the wingnuts/lugs: the 3LR1000T becomes ventable under cell flash while retaining a sealed ability. Cheers, Russell

  • Concerning NTE's Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) chip: ECG1721 (16-pin DIP). NTE's ECG1721 is match to ST's SG3525A (both are NOR logic). It looks like + 12 volts is [pin 15], -12 volts (ground) [pin12], output towards power transistor [pin 11], Variable resistor across [pin5] & [pin7] (controls delay), This is as far as I reached. Help?-What type of component to control pulse and across what pins? I guess the worst is to miswire and destroy my $6.25 chip. lol
