Does the top of the condenser need to be open or closed? I have never used this technique before but I am afraid that if I cover it the top will blow off and if I don't that the gas will escape.
Also I don't need to stir I but dont have anti bumping chips so will it the magnetic stirrer break it up enough/do any harm?

Very professional and informative. All of the chemlab videos on YouTube are generally the same but I always like how this guy conveys the process. It's easier to retain than most others IMO.
