The Cage(Sonata Arctica) keyboard intro solo

This is me playing the intro solo (Jens Johansson) to The Cage by Sonata Arctica on my new Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. Again, there were no 100% accurate tabs out there so I figured out each note myself by ear. The lead sound is actually not from the keyboard, I have it hooked up to my computer and I'm using a patch (by Luca Capozzi) made for Reason 3.0

Anyways, hope you enjoy it, this isn't the best I've played it but it's probably the best I can catch on camera, lol =P

Yep, in fact if you look at the related videos on the right. I have a tutorial already uploaded for this solo. I play it as slow as 60bpm and then work up to full speed to give u an idea of how it all comes together. Hope it helps =)

Yes, Jens also uses a Yamaha DX7, just as a controller though, the sounds are coming from a roland JV1080 synthesizer module. I'm currently using a JV2080, basically the same, just an updated interface with slightly different settings and sounds. In this video though, I'm using sounds from Reason with a downloaded patch, this was before I got a JV2080.

Uhh, I couldn't help but to notice in your description that it says Jens Johanson. That's Stratovarius' key player, Sonata is Henrik. Unless Jens did a guest solo.

All the keyboard solos on Winterheart's Guild are guest solos by Jens, since during the time they were missing a keyboardist, he came in temporarily and just filled in for recording the solos, while the rest of the keyboard parts were by Tony.
