Biofuels = Peak Food.
Tar sands, Shale Oil = Peak Natural Gas - to cook low quality oil out of sand/rock. As Matt Simmons says "turning gold to lead."
Abiotic oil = possibly, but probably takes similar time to decomposing dinosaurs for enough to power the world's car fleet.
The Precautionary Principle = Accept likelihood of Peak oil and tax/ban Hummers and other gas-guzzlers to boost public transport and electric cars. Save oil for airplanes, shipping, mining and agriculture.
