Ebay listing title: Alienware Area-51 m17x Black Great Condition
For sale on eBay is my Alienware Area-51 m17x gaming laptop. I recently built a gaming desktop, so felt I didn't need two gaming computers. If you compare this m17x and the new M17x, you get all the upgrades at a lower price than the base configuration of the new M17x that starts at $1699. On this laptop you get a X9000 2.8 GHz dual core processor, 8800m GTX in SLI, 1920x1200 LCD, and a 320GB HD. On the base configuration for the new M17x you only get a 2.4 GHz dual core processor, single 260m GTX, 1440x900 LCD, and a 250GB HD. This laptop actually score higher in benchmarking and starts at a lower price!

The optical drive for this laptop is Smart Bay. When you push that button on the side, you can hot swap/eject even while the computer is on. When this m17x first came out, you could order a hard drive Smart Bay to add extra storage (so in theory, you could have up to 1.5 TB in this laptop). Not sure if Alienware still sells the Smart Bays, or where you could get them... I see one on eBay, just look up Alienware Smart Bay. Hope this answers you Q.
