Over 200 large mouth bass died in a pond. We are doing testing to determine the cause of the fish kill... an algae bloom depleted the oxygen enough to kill over 200 large mouth bass in Flag pond.

  • I am not sure about the gulf rain idea. There is another pond right across the road plus various other ponds on the property that did not have a fish kill. Two biologists said there is an algae that uses the oxygen in the water at night and produces oxygen in the daylight. several overcast days in a row plus higher water temperatures caused this algae to deplete the pond of oxygen.

  • damn..

  • a great story for earthprotect(dot)com

  • ya this is happening everywhere. I believe it is most likely being cause by Gulf rains, carrying corexit 9500 inland to streams and lakes, ultimately killing fish on mass numbers.

  • red river county, texas

  • Where is this at, what state?
