bigger misconception about the lottery, I was number 1500 on the wait list and I got in early august. I have a friend who is over 2000 and he also got in before september. DONT give up hope just cuz you didn't get accepted right away!

OMG story of my life! I was lucky though, because I have family in Vancouver, but it's a lot more expensive :P
You'd think for a school that has 50,000 students there would be more than 1,000 living spaces....wtf!

UBC should stop spending hundreds of millions on tearing down national laboratories and building luxury condos, and focus their investment on student housing. Students and scholars are the real "clients" for UBC, not some investors and real estate developers from east asia and middle east.
