Miami-Dade TVs new series, Inside County Jobs, brings viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the people who perform the wide spectrum of jobs that serve our residents every day. In the premiere episode, host Erika Benitez-Gill trades her anchorwoman attire for a fireproof suit to take on a harrowing firefighter survival course alongside MDFR recruits.

  • haha she couldnt reach... but anyway I'm thinking about joining the air force and get the firefighting training there =)

  • Good luck. Service for your community or the nation is a good thing.

  • i got a real big kick out of watching this girl playing with all the gear. the part that made me laugh was when she was trying to get the hose

  • We laughed too when we shot the video.

  • She did a good job, some people have a real problem with claustrophobia and having gear and breathing air if your not use to it makes it even harder.

I start our RIT training on the 22nd and I cant WAIT!!!!!!!!

  • This is what i call crap...... She made all woman look like jurks......I know a lot of (F) firefighters and most do a good dam job.....playing FF is not what she should be doing.

  • im starting firefighting training soon

  • wow

  • You're not REQUIRED to have an EMT-P in Florida. Required is First Responder. But it's RECOMMENDED to have at least an EMT-Basic, if you get your EMT-P even better, but not required

  • Best job in the world!! cant wait to start doin it.. Good vid

  • Get your EMT-Basic and eventually Paramedic, Military helps (but you don't need it), volunteer.

  • dose your city have a Jr. firefighter pro. if it dose you should join that. you get hands on training, you go with them on fire calls. that would help increase your chances.

  • i just joined as a volunteer and im a senior at high school..i would advise you find a volunteer department and join to see if you like it, i like it its fun

  • today's day firefighters in Florida are required to have their EMT/PARAMEDIC CERTIFICATION which is what i am currently acheiving.. whish you very good luck.. BE SAFE !!
