He was an incredible person. He did as much for the advancement of humanity as anyone through the popularization of science.

It's exciting watching them discuss the lack of impact craters on Europa. The evidence that would support our understand that Europa has a liquid ocean beneath its surface.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? He was agnostic, not a strict atheist. And even if he was, what does that have to do with anything?

Are you actually a physicist, dude? Because I'm not sure what you mean when you say "we are all traveling through space-time at the light-speed." Light moves at light speed... that's why it's called light speed! Besides space, which can expand faster than light, and maybe neutrinos, I'm not aware of anything else being able to go that fast. But by all means, correct me if I'm wrong!

Wow. What kind of dullard are you? Have you not noticed that ideas, concepts, or in this case, the works of a great man, have the ability to reach through time and space and connect with people? Are you that dense? Look at Jesus. No one alive today met him, and we don't even know for a fact that he existed, but that doesn't stop people from loving him.

So, because he got some things wrong, he wasn't a thinker? Besides that being a complete non-sequitur, I wonder, can you name a single person that you do consider a thinker that got everything right?

was the information about these events before or after Sagan died? ...and Columbus might not have been the first ,but its his ''discovery'' that led to its mass colonization. His impact was far greater than any you've mentioned

Wow, I thought Sagan would be a bigger man than to spout that Columbus discovered North America...you know, like the French, who had a colony here? Or the Vikings who left ruins? Or the Chinese Junk wrecks of the west coast?

Are you fucking retarded? Do you have any idea how bad for our atmosphere the Kuwaiti oil fires were? And are these the same USA scientists that say Marijuana is addictive and cigarettes are good for you?

I fail to see how one mistake disqualifies his other achievements, perhaps if you realize that through your errors comes progress. We all make mistakes, the point is, is to learn from them. The errors of Sagan only prove that he is human like the rest of us. However what separates him from most of humanity is that through his achievements we all benefited from his knowledge as well. Perhaps if you wish to prove that he did nothing, you should focus on your own accomplishments.
