I adore Bernards work. He is my all time favorite author. I am currently reading "The Fort" and I am lost for words, "Azincourt" was breathtaking, but this is in a class above the rest. I highly recomend any of Cornwells novels to any newcomers to his work. They are all majestically good.

Ive read Gallow's thief, Azincourt, Stonhenge, and now im on the sharpe novels this guy is one of the greatest authors of historical fiction hands down thank you Mr. Cornwell you are great

Bernard is legendary. I would suggest the Saxon and Warlord chronicles. Absolutely superb. As are are all of his other works. Amongst Harry Sidebottom and Tim Severin, he is a favourite.
I agree with you all that Cornwell is the shit. He rocks.
Check out his Viking books. Series is still in progress.
