i have dissociative disorder not otherwise specified, I don't meet the criteria for depersonalization because i have more than that, I have derealization 24/7, I've had this at least since the age of 13 and only found out about this disorder when I was 26, i was diagnosed at 27, that's how old I am now, i don't know how real my surroundings are or if I really exist, everything looks like a dream always, so long i had this disorder that I'm not entirely convinced i have it, a 50/50 chance I do

@Mobius I also know what it feels like to be in denial. Recently I was thinking maybe this is just how everyone sees it and I'm blowing it up somehow. But you're not, you're really not - it's normal to not realize DR is abnormal if that's all you know. Severe derealization is unmistakable, like I said I have that with only mild - moderate depersonalization (usually) and it is my most prominent symptom for sure. I am 26 and got diagnosed with a DD at right around my 23rd birthday.

@Mobius I also have derealization 24/7, and I know what a creepy feeling it is and how uncomfortable it can be. It is so hard to explain to people, but do know there are other people experiencing it. I'm glad you got diagnosed - are you seeing a therapist currently? It can definitely get better. I've had it for as long as I can remember, and since I've started therapy I'd say it's about... it used to be an 8+ out of 10 always. Now I'd say it is usually between 6-8. Good luck.
