I was 8 year old in 1987. I grew up watching these games and Allan Bester is my all time favorite Leafs goalie. His goaltending style and super effort on a lousy team was great ! VERY UNDERRATED FOR SURE !

This game was played on March 21, 1987. The Canadiens won it, 9-4 and it was the 3rd of 9 straight wins the Canadiens had to end the season. That would stretch to 13 after an opening round sweep of Boston before Quebec stretched them to 7. The Leafs got in on the season's final day by tiebreaker with Minnesota and went 1 game away from the conf. final only to be beaten by Detroit in 7 after leading the series 3-1. There's your history lesson folks.

Allan Bester was very underrated. I remember some years later when Dallas had both Andy Moog & Darcy Wakaluk out...they got Bester from Orlando instead of going to their own farm team in Kalamazoo. He more than held his own, I don't know why they didn't keep him. Or the Leafs, for that matter.
