@titanicwicked None of the show's creators referred to it as an operetta. It is a demanding score for a Broadway musical, but it requires singers who are comfortable with the musical theater idiom. Anderson is not.

@90lysander this is actually an Operetta... so they should be singing in a similar style to June Anderson by using classical training.

The only greatness here is the Maria, a real singer, an opera singer, not the half-hearted musical theatre crap we hear. I mean, yes, this is a musical, but I prefer people who can actually sing--like June Anderson. The others--meh!
